Ice Climbing and Winter Alpine Mountaineering

Twid runs bespoke ice climbing courses in the Alps all winter. Clients meet at Villar his home base(easy from Geneva Airport) then a plan is made taking into account weather and conditions. A tailored week is then planned for the course. Twid drives the team around in his 4x4 and provides free use of his kit.
Areas coomonly used:

• Cogne,La Grave, Kandersteg, Chamonix, Valais, Verbier area.
• Twid combines: Ice Climbing, Mixed climbing, High Mountain Couliors and North Faces on his courses.
• It can be possible to rock climb on the odd day also.

Ice climbing requires sound judgement, solid technique, knowledge of conditions and a well conditioned mental approach to leading on the medium. It takes plenty of experience to feel comfortable leading on ice routes. By following a Guide you can learn the craft of ice climbing and gain essential mileage climbing ice hard won in the Alps.
