Alpine Kit List

Alpine Kit List

Boots: are the most important piece of Alpine Kit. They have to be worn in well before the trip to prevent blisters. They should be light, ideally leather and waterproof. Each persons foot is a different shape. Try different boots and soles to get the best Fit. Boots should be at least B2 and take a snap on crampon.
Twid has worn Boreal boots for many years on trips to the Alps, Alaska, Patagonia, Greenland, Pakistan, Baffin, etc and found them to be excellent. He recommends the Pamir model for Summer Alpine Climbing and Winter in Scotland.
